SPEN VIEW LANE DEVELOPMENT

01

Impressive views across the Spen Valley towards the Kirklees boundary.

This area was originally named SPEN VIEW for a reason.

SPEN

02

A natural habitat to various wildlife including roosting bats.

It's even been known to home a horse or two in its time.

The locals commonly use it for recreation purposes and dog walking.

VIEW

03

- Just let your mind wander and enjoy the peaceful view -

This prime green space was historically known for its iron ore workings in the 19th century and was later mined for coal right up to the first half of the 20th century.

There are many disused mine shafts known to be on site.

LANE

04

A view from the lane towards the proposed new housing site.

Note the original single lane road which will have to cope with this new increase in traffic.

THE PEACEFUL VIEWS BELONGING TO THIS PRIME GREENSPACE WILL SHORTLY BE INTERRUPTED AS IT IS EARMARKED FOR YET MORE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE AREA.

PLANS FOR A LARGE CREMATORIUM TO SERVE THE ENTIRE CITY OF BRADFORD, ORIGINALLY PROPOSED TO BE BUILT IN ANOTHER LOCATION, PLUS ALSO A FURTHER TWO SEPARATE NEW HOUSING PROJECTS WILL REPLACE IT.

YET ANOTHER PROPOSAL TO BE ADDED TO THE VARIOUS OTHER PROJECTS ALREADY BUILT ON LOCAL GREEN BELT LAND IN RECENT YEARS.
